What does the RPM sensor on your scooter do?

De speed sensor transmits the number of revolutions of the engine to the CDI-unit. In other words: he lets the CDI know how fast your scooter goesWithout a properly functioning sensor, the scooter cannot transmit or adjust the correct speed.

Where is the RPM sensor located?

The speed sensor is mounted behind the crankcase cover, where he the revolutions of the rear clutch measure. This signal is needed to the CDI to make it work properly and to regulate the speed correctly.

Why is the RPM sensor so important?

Without a working RPM sensor, or with a defective one, your scooter will not driving at the right speed that on the CDI is stated. The sensor is therefore at least as important as the CDI yourself for the correct adjustment.

We often get the question why a scooter needs to be replaced after a 32 km / h CDI still 65 km / h keeps driving. In 99 out of 100 cases is this because the speed sensor is loose or missingSo always check this first before you the CDI suspects.
